Pavement Specialties of Idaho, Inc is a construction service company and is looking to hire a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to assist with preventative maintenance and repairs of diesel equipment in the field. You may be required to travel to various job sites to make electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs on equipment such as excavators, loaders, pavers, rollers, forklifts, and more. Applicants should have gas and diesel engine experience with knowledge in heavy equipment repair so they can determine what parts and tools are necessary for repairs. You must be able to use a tablet or other device to run diagnostic tests and enter job information, and you need a valid driver's license to travel to project sites and perform equipment tests as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Inspect trucks, and all equipment for proper performance.
Troubleshoot & diagnose assigned equipment to make necessary repairs.
Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance.
Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs.
Report damaged, faulty or unsafe equipment to management.
Clean equipment for full inspection before returning to work.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Complete shop paperwork and file daily after executed repairs.

Qualifications / Skills:
High school diploma or GED certificate.
Post-secondary certificate or training as a mechanic (a plus).
2 to 5 years of experience with diesel/heavy equipment repair.
Welding experience (a plus).
Manual dexterity.
· Job requires stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching and squatting.
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
· Must pass pre-employment drug test.
