Licensed General Contractor is looking for Partner to take over business.
Soon to retire [10 years or less] , I would like to develop a new partner
[to run their own crew] and take over the business [for interest-only payments] which will supplement my retirement income.
Having placed Craigslist ads on the mainland before, choosing Idaho over California to find the very best person seems like a great choice. There's a high probability you are from a rural community and come hardwired with a good work ethic. East Hawaii is still a small town, but growing.
I would rather not say this, but it is so very important, as the drug scourge has hit rural America pretty hard. No Meth or Fentanyl even in recidivism.
The game plan would be for us to do some meet and greet online, and then you would take a vacation here during the winter for a week or two to decide if this could be paradise for you.
You would be entrusted with my reputation, tools, and most importantly valid General Contractors License.
The perfect candidate is motivated, likes physical outdoor work, is dependable unsupervised, possesses leadership skills, and has an obsession with detail.
I'll share something that I learned. I haven't gotten the replies I thought I would.
Here's a quick story. Read an article about a gentleman in Japan when his father passed away inherited his local insurance business. It had a full list of clients and was quite profitable. He couldn't find anybody to buy it or take it over. He closed the business.
Then he realized there was a demand for people in his situation. He opened a company that does nothing but trade in small businesses. Today he is a multi-multimillionaire.
Well, I've got the same problem. No, it is not that I'm a multimillionaire, but do have a great business opportunity with no takers. Yet.
I have a great trademarked name, equipment, knowledge, and a valid contractors license.
My business is on the east side of the island of Hawaii. This geographical location was chosen because it's less stressful and affords the opportunity for a much better lifestyle.
