DescriptionThe Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) has an opening for a Lands Program Manager - Forest Management Projects position located primarily at one of the IDL area offices throughout the state including the staff office in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.Example of DutiesResponsibilities: Responsible for establishing, communicating, and providing clear focus for the strategic direction, goals and priorities of statewide programs

Understand and work within political and legal environments, gather information on best practices and communicate with industry, special interest groups, and the public

Provide program auditing to ensure adherence to program requirements and make recommendations to improve activities and address deficiencies

Prepare and distribute reports and documents necessary to evaluate program performance and efficiency, and in response to statutory reporting requirements of the program

Develop and regularly update program manuals to reflect current policies and procedures and ensure consistent implementation of practices

Supplemental InformationDesirable Qualifications:Good Knowledge: Training or experience in forest genetics, tree improvement and forest regeneration methods

Training or experience in forest stand dynamics, plant autecology and physiology, forest economics

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Forestry or Forestry/Science, or related field

Experience:In mensuration, stand-density measurements and other aspects of silviculture

Using data management systems to collect, compile and analyze data to evaluate program information
