The OpportunityOur location in Abbott Park, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Supplier Diversity Manager within our Procurement division. The primary function of the Supplier Diversity Manager is to be responsible for executing against the supplier diversity strategies developed by Senior Management. Work closely with internal customers, divisions and the Category Managers driving the "One Abbott Procurement" model. Provide superior levels of customer service and satisfaction while adhering to a strict standard of business ethics and integrity. The Supplier Diversity Manager is responsible for promoting diverse suppliers and monitoring their usage across Abbott's divisions.They will proactively seek and lead innovative ways to improve the procurement processes, cycle times, and customer service levels and be considered an SME across categories. Will develop a strong understanding of "One Procurement" category strategies and work on projects that impact the "One Procurement" team and identify areas of opportunity for new business opportunities with diverse suppliers, process improvement, and cost efficiencies. The Supplier Diversity Manager is recognized as an expert within own area. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise.What You’ll Work On

Reporting to the Director of Supplier Diversity & Economic Inclusion, this highly visible role will also focus on strategic spend initiatives to continue to transform the organization globally

Partner closely with global and regional procurement teams and Category Managers/Directors to analyze, forecast and report diverse supplier spend in support of various strategic programs and initiatives to advance suppliers’ sustainability at Abbott

Interface and collaborate with business leaders at all levels and become a true advisor and business partner to assess and evaluate spend opportunities to drive Abbott’s Supplier Diversity roadmap and vision

Determine baselines, develop metrics, and report to the Supplier Diversity Champions spend opportunities within the divisions and the regions: APAC, EMEA and LATAM

Manage the data enrichment strategy and diverse supplier certifications through the various third-party hosted providers

Lead and host training initiatives across all stakeholders to educate them on spend reporting systems and diverse registration platforms

Identify best practices in diverse supplier spend by conducting research consisting of external benchmarking, industry groups and insight from customers and key investors

Assist with identification of existing diverse suppliers as well as introduce new diverse suppliers for commodities or services

Works closely with the Director to support supplier diversity events both internal and external

Participate in external supplier diversity partner councils (NMSDC, WBENC, Disability:IN, NVBDC, NGLCC and other organizations) to grow diverse business spend

Collaborates to produce Abbott’s monthly Diversity Dashboard and Global Procurement verticals spend reports including the business units, upon request

Develop relationships with diverse suppliers and promote networking relationships between suppliers and Category Managers/Directors

Works closely with the Director for all reporting of Abbott’s diverse supplier spend (Tier I and Tier II) for all business (commercial) operations and government (federal) contracts

Support the strategic initiatives and inclusive environment efforts to advance Abbott’s 2030 Sustainability Plan

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Finance, Quality, Engineering, or Business OR equivalent education and work experience.

At least 6 years of work experience in a business setting with a focus on procurement and sourcing responsibilities, or related field. Experience in financial and analytical supplier diversity reporting.

Experience navigating complex ERP systems, Excel spreadsheets and various reporting tools.

Previous work experience in tracking and reporting diverse supplier spend.

Knowledgeable in strategic sourcing, supplier sustainability, and supplier diversity.

Preferred Qualifications

CPM, CPSD certifications desired

Project management skills.

Excellent people skills

Excellent problem-solving skills

Proficient in the use of spreadsheet programs

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills

Ability to work as advocate for the function
