Description We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our team based in Addison, Illinois. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity in the construction industry. As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for auditing project cost projections, developing reports, and managing contracts in our ERP system. Your aim will be to ensure accuracy and efficiency in our financial operations.Responsibilities: Develop and utilize KPIs to monitor project activity Conduct audits of project cost projections and report variances Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations Review and set up contracts in the ERP system Invoice projects and manage receivables Request Insurance Certificates, Bonds, and Waivers as required Track project activity using Work In Progress (WIP) reports Apply construction accounting principles to financial data Ensure accurate billing practices in line with project requirements Collaborate with the team to resolve customer inquiries and ensure customer satisfaction Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Project Accountant role or similar position Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Proficiency in construction accounting principles and practices Familiarity with WIP (Work in Progress) accounting methods Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred Ability to handle billing processes and procedures effectively Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
