We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager with experience in a unionized heavy manufacturing environment. This role will manage HR functions for approximately 130 employees with the support of one HR Generalist. The HR Manager will act as a trusted advisor and advocate for both management and employees, while fostering a positive, collaborative work culture.Other Responsibilities Include:Manage relationships between management and the union, assisting with handling grievances, contract interpretation, and assisting managers with navigating the discipline process.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and collective bargaining agreement.Provide guidance to management and employees on employee relations issues, promoting fair treatment and open communication.Investigate employee complaints, handle disciplinary actions, and resolve conflicts in a fair, consistent manner.Partner with the leadership team to implement and communicate HR policies and procedures effectively.Work in tandem with the recruiting team to manage the recruiting process, including developing job descriptions, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.Participate in the onboarding and orientation processes, ensuring new hires understand job expectations, company policies, and union guidelines.Support managers in coaching and developing employees, identifying skill gaps, and creating development plans as needed.Coordinate training sessions to promote skill development and safety awareness in alignment with operational goals.Partner with payroll/HR management/timekeeping to address any payroll concerns and ensure accuracy.Assist employees with questions about benefits, leave, and other related HR programs.
