Location: Bensenville, IL Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 6:00pm to 3:00am Status : Full-Time (Non-Exempt) Compensation: Set at $19 hourly $300 Sign-on Bonus After Completion of the 90-day Probationary Period JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective The shipping coordinator performs the following duties to quality and productivity standards: administrative and secretarial support to the department; verifies and keeps records of outgoing shipments; prepares items for shipment. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Provides administrative and general support to the department including tracking orders, printing pick lists, and organizing pick lists; directs pick lists to pickers; and takes detailed notes from management meetings when required; writes and distributes emails, correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms.
Establishes and maintains filing system; maintains attendance sheet for the department.
Processes outbound shipments which include packing slips, shipping labels, and other miscellaneous documents; scans and palletizes cases, weighs, and stretch-wraps wholesale orders; operates the stretch wrap banders.
Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or relocates orders to a holding area or shipping department.
Actual physical counts of products ordered, and tag controls required, report defective products to appropriate staff.
Prioritizes order processing based on customer urgency, order processing goals, and available staff/time.
Performs all computer functions necessary throughout the shipment process and decides on pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order.
Responsible for researching the items ordered and editing the missing items from the order.
Works with the Purchasing department on back-orders requirements, stock shortages/ pick-ups/deliveries from and to vendors.
Works with Sales Team to expediate the combined case qty orders and provide tracking information.
Responsible for making the pallets ready for all carriers to be picked up in the department and maintain FIFO.
Maintains effective communication with internal and external parties to ensure accurate shipment and products delivered to clients.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a warehouse environment where the noise level can be loud. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee must be flexible as this position requires balance between sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing all day.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Days and hours to be specified.
Travel:
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience:
A minimum of HS Diploma or GED and one year of factory- or warehouse-related experience in shipping/receiving and/or administrative assistant roles. Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Familiarity with the inventory management system. Experience with freight carrier systems such as UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL. Ability to use multiple web-based applications and to maintain focus. Knowledge of standard office equipment and office management systems and procedures.
