POSITION SUMMARY:
The Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering, loading, and unloading merchandise, according to the customer's loading slip, while keeping Safety as the #1 priority in the day to day routine.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivers merchandise for customers at Construction sites, personal homes, farms, etc.
Receives, records, and routes customer orders/changes in appropriate
manner
Effectively communicates customer issues and concerns to all applicable internal staff members
Loads materials into vehicles or trailers, and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand-tools as necessary.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand
May operate forklift or industrial truck to assist in loading, unloading, or moving merchandise and material
Adhere to Loss Prevention, inventory control, and compliance procedures
Safety awareness of anything in store that may be hazard to employees or customers
Additional duties, as assigned
REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS:
Class A CDL
1 year of experience driving with a class A CDL is required
Ability to:
o Effectively communicate with customers, in-person and over the phone
o Demonstrate initiative and effective problem-solving skills within the scope of the position
o Work in a fast-paced environment
o Communicate with members of management and co-workers
