Description We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our team, based in Carol Stream, Illinois. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity that involves a blend of HR and paralegal duties. The Legal Assistant will be primarily responsible for providing information and handling workers compensation claims with a third party administrator. The role requires a high degree of tech proficiency and strong organizational skills.Responsibilities: Handle and process workers compensation claims with a third-party administrator. Provide key information to internal and external stakeholders as needed. Utilize tech proficiency, especially with Microsoft suites, Outlook, and PDF knowledge, to streamline and automate tasks. Exercise strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize various tasks and projects. Maintain open lines of communication with team members and clients, demonstrating a detail-oriented approach. Conduct state filing as per regulatory requirements. Aid in the process of hiring and termination within the organization. Assist in qualifying trucking companies as part of the organization's operational needs. Manage and oversee up to 12 litigation projects a year. Requirements Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a related role. Proficiency in using Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) is required. Familiarity with Case Management Software and CompuLaw is highly desirable. Experience in handling Billing Functions within a legal setting is essential. Should be adept at managing calendars and coordinating meetings, appointments, and deadlines. Experience in Claim Administration and managing client relations is required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Must be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Should have a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Must have a strong understanding of legal terminology and principles. A bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field is desirable.
