Junior Trader -Tata International - Schaumburg, IL 60193
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and meet sales targets in the North American flat-rolled, long, and niche product market segments. Identify commercial profit-driving opportunities within the U.S. carbon steel market. Execute orders while planning financial, logistical, and insurance components of trade.
Oversee order fulfillment process from end-to-end to ensure effective and efficient trade execution. Manage customer order load to ensure delivery times are met, claims and customer queries are handled efficiently.
Work with Trading Managers to expand the customer base, identify new product/market opportunities; and increase sales/trading margins for the company.
Develop customer and relevant third-party relationships so as to maximize opportunities for sales and profit. Understand customer requirements, market activity, competitor activity, and supplier performance. Leverage & capitalize on existing relationships with importers and steel producers in the area.
Maintain constant communication with the supplying mills on key aspects of the assigned market and our customers.
Travel to trade conventions, suppliers/mills, and customer facilities both domestically and internationally, as needed.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in international trade, economics, or business, or foreign equivalent
Required Profile:
At least 1 year of training or professional experience in a direct client-facing commercial role in international metals trading.
Training/professional experience must include work with INCO TERMS 2010, UCP 600, and marine freight (container and/or bulk).
