The MEP Project Manager is responsible for overall management and success of construction projects while achieving quality, client satisfaction and profitability goals. This position will also be responsible for coordinating the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects of the project from pre-construction through construction and post-construction phases. Assisting the client and design engineers providing value engineering cost effective options and installation procedures.
The key responsibilities for this job include managing the whole staff assigned to project and relationship management among project owner, owner’s tenants and all professional groups involved. To monitor schedules, spending, and review project reports for accuracy, provide status updates and financial reports. To review subcontractor and vendor invoices, approve payment or negotiate changes, prepare, and submit change orders for approval by clients and director of operations. To review and understand all scope documents, including specifications, drawings and contracts.
The MEP Project Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with the latest construction standards and codes of practice. Implementing and managing the MEP coordination process to resolve all conflicts prior to start of installations. This will involve the use of AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks. Prior to installation, review shop drawings and submittals for compliance and completeness. Monitor the installation and start-up of MEP systems and commissioning of project with Engineer & Owner. To manage the submittal and RFI process, ensuring all submittals are approved are all RFIs are closed out.
The MEP Project Manager will be responsible for managing the close-out process of the project, ensuring all payments are made, all documentation and contracts are closed out.
Daily supervision of 5 subordinate MEP Coordinators, Superintendents and Foremen.
