Select your correct bargaining unitFAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS WILL RESULT IN A REJECTED BID APPLICATIONDescriptionUnder supervision, performs professional accounting duties at the intermediate level where the position works independently on moderately complex accounting assignments, and performs related duties as requiredESSENTIAL DUTIES
Initiates and prepares expense transfer requests, and drafts memos for processing with supporting documentation to reconcile grant budgets, completes deobligations and modifications for budgets; codes, records, and updates journal entries (e.g., expenditures, account transfers, budget revisions)
Audits financial documents to ensure entries are accurate, appropriately allocated to accounts, and comply with contract and funding guidelines, and documents errors and reconciles accounts, as required
Monitors account balances and adjusts spending levels and fund re-allocations to ensure the availability of funds to cover expenditures
Prepares various reports (e.g., program and operating budgets, expenditure tracking, grant financial reports) of a moderately complex nature using computer spreadsheets
Analyzes historical records and anticipated economic trends and forecasts future expenses and revenues
Participates in the compilation and analysis of fiscal data for inclusion in complex financial reports (i.e., Periodic Performance Detail and Status Report, Public Information Document, etc.)
Reviews and creates requisitions for delegate agency budgets and iSupplier invoices for reimbursement for goods and services
Reviews grant/project application budgets, set-up award budgets/refund lines in Oracle Grants Management (OGM)
Examines sub-grant agreements for any fiscal related requirements
Review and submit departmental requests for appropriating funds, authorizing grant/project obligations, monitoring and reporting grant/project expenditures and closing out grant/project awards
Works in coordination with DFSS Program, Grants Management, and the Comptroller’s Office to submit final close-out reports to various grantors
Provides technical assistance to delegate agency partners and participates in internal and external meetings

The interviewed candidate (s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected.Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
Previous experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Governmental Accounting Standards
Previous professional accounting experience in grants management
Previous experience in accounting.
Previous experience working with budgetary procedures.
Previous work experience in analyzing data
Previous experience using Microsoft suites.
Previous experience using Oracle based accounting software
