Job DescriptionLocation: Chicago, ILHospital: RUSH University Medical CenterDepartment: CHS Deans Office-CHSWork Type: Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0)Shift: Shift 1Work Schedule: 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 4:00:00 PM)Summary:The Admissions Specialist (AS), under the general supervision of the Director of Admissions, participates in recruitment, advising and admission activities with the purpose of meeting enrollment goals of the academic programs to the College. The AS exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Responsibilities:Recruitment Collaborate in the development of a yearly recruitment plan to meet college enrollment objectives. Track target enrollments and composition of current student body to measure alignment with college admission goals. Develop and maintain partnership with prospective and current students, vendors and marketing partners. Periodically benchmark College against competitors, document results and suggest strategies to enhance market position for recruitment and admissions. Coordinate prospect/applicant diversity activities with appropriate University partners. Maintain and expand affiliate college relationships. Represent the College at recruitment activities including school visits, information sessions, graduate and professional fairs, local, state and national conferences, and presentations to students andacademic advisors at other institutions. Assist in annual planning of recruitment activities; construct a spreadsheet of visits and fairs with costs to attend. Function in a public relations role by meeting and greeting in a friendly, and professional manner all prospective applicants during appointments, walk-ins, telephone calls, and at recruitmentactivities. Maintain knowledge of recruitment trends and information by participating in professional organizations, attending seminars, and reading relevant publications. Generate innovations to improve current procedures with regard to recruitment.Admissions Assist Program Director in program management – track/monitor applicants through CAS (systems to institute the appropriate action; provide program updates periodically during application periods;actively interact with applicants to facilitate application submission; conduct an initial file review to identify/categorize applicants. Communicates, both internally and externally, the College admission requirements and application process, providing guidance and assistance to applicants in obtaining prerequisite courses andconducting evaluations of applicant’s completed coursework from other institutions. Develop collaborative relationships with the other colleges at Rush University for optimally efficient functioning of admission services.Assist in preparing various reports as requested and utilizes the communication management options in the student information system. Preparation, development and maintenance of an evaluation mechanism of admissions, including identifying areas for improvement and collaborate in efforts to enhance the applicant experience. Knowledge of photo imaging.Physical Demands: Able to consistently provide excellent customer service in a friendly, outgoing, and professional manner. Able and willing to learn new skills as needed, especially to work with new technologies that become available. Able to lift a minimum of 20-25 pounds to manage recruitment materials for off campus events. Able and willing to periodically travel out of state and overnight.
