Job DescriptionLocation: Chicago, ILHospital: RUSH University Medical CenterDepartment: RUMG Administration MSPWork Type: Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0)Shift: Shift 1Work Schedule: 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 5:00:00 PM)Summary:The AVP for Practice Operations, RMG provides strategic leadership and operational management to Rush Medical Group (RMG) ambulatory clinics that aligns with the vision and strategic imperatives of RUSH. The AVP for RMG Practice Operations will ensure accountability to operational, strategic and financial objectives for the Chicago Metro market with clearly defined timeframes and accountabilities. The AVP of RMG Practice Operations will lead and mentor a team of directors cultivating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. The AVP of RMG Practice Operations will also oversee the management of, and provide direction to, Practice Administrators, Managers, Nursing Leaders, and performance improvement leadership to ensure safe, welcoming and effective delivery of patient care. In addition, this individual will work directly with VP of Operations for RMG, RMG clinicians, RUSH leadership, and staff to identify programs, services and associated competencies required to build and expand the services of RMG. This role is a key leadership role in continuing to build a growth platform for ambulatory expansion, while optimizing resource utilization across RMG. At least 10 years’ experience in related field. Demonstrated executive leadership capability, relationship development, financial and analytic skills and business acumen. Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems in a complex environment. Motivated and energetic professional with excellent communication, organization and leadership skills. Promotes a positive, harmonious & productive work environment to achieve the goals of the department with optimum efficiency.Responsibilities:Job Responsibilities: Develops standards for RMG’s Ambulatory Care Services as it relates to quality, patient centered care, efficiency and productivity. Executes plans to implement standards to achieve top notch patient, provider and staff experience. Possesses a knowledge base for ambulatory technology, volume and market changes. In addition, proactively identifies new opportunities for ambulatory growth and understands potential threats to Rush’s overall strategic direction. Develops short and long-term strategic goals and objectives for RMG’s Ambulatory Care Services. Collaborates with essential corporate staff functions, coordinating efforts across departments such as information services, human resources, capital projects, strategic planning, and marketing. Works in partnership with clinical leadership to ensure a seamless continuum of care. Maintains close and collaborative relationships with the Department Chairs, Service Line Directors, Medical Directors, and other Clinician leaders. Ensures that ambulatory practices exceed regulatory requirements established by the Joint Commission (TJC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Conveys a high level of integrity and fosters the spirit of collaboration, trust and respect. Provides effective communication to executive leadership, faculty, management and staff to establish understanding of the organization’s mission and strategic goals necessary to achieve operational goals. Leads the transformation of Rush's ambulatory practices toward a patient-centered delivery model, spearheading the shift from a disease-focused approach to one that prioritizes holistic, patient-centered care. Ensures consistency across RMG practices, both off and on campus, related to patient, care delivery and follow up. Works across departments to develop clinical neighborhoods that will serve as the future of ambulatory care delivery at Rush. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities, including service expansion and new clinic openings. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and leverage data to drive operational improvements. Centralizes and manages selected functions and activities in a manner that drives efficiency, accuracy, and successful operations. Prepares operational and capital budgets to ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support operations and meet department and /or organizational goals. Oversees the operational budgets, including revenue, expenses, staffing levels, and capital equipment for the Chicago Metro market. Ensures alignment with patient volume and service needs. Analyzes financial challenges, provides strategic recommendations, and implements corrective actions as necessary in partnership with appropriate leaders. Prepares and presents necessary financial, statistical and operational data for new program or business including return on investment analysis in conjunction with AVP of Finance for RMG and respective administrator. Conducts space planning to achieve growth imperatives in conjunction with overall RUSH strategic vision. Monitors all patient care programs and activities to ensure high quality care and patient-centered safety programs. Works collaboratively with the Service and Process Improvement team to analyze patient experience data and develop operational flow systems that support and continuously improve RMG’s patient satisfactionRush is an equal opportunity employer.
