Strategic AWS Architecture Consultant

Note: This role doesn’t allow for sponsorship or transfer of visa. Ideal candidate will be local to the Chicagoland area.

Responsibilities: This individual is a strategic hire for our client, a Chicago based AWS Consultancy firm. The selected candidate will be responsible for full client services from technical advisor of sold work to execution of project and architecture with support of client and internal staff.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years experience doing enterprise, network, system and application-level architecture
• Strong focus on Cloud Architecture specifically AWS; prefer candidates with AWS Professional Certification or progress towards
• Technical expertise in the following areas:
  • AWS Foundational Services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, etc.)
  • Infrastructure as Code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, Packer)
  • Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Managing common security controls (IAM, Least Privilege, Firewall, Patching, Antivirus, etc.)
  • Implementing traditional VM, container (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless based architectures
  • Common source control systems (Git, VSTS, SVN) and project structure/organization
  • Experience migrating and deploying common Windows (IIS, SQL Server, WSFC) and Linux (Apache, MySQL, PostgreSQL) platforms
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management
• Experience supporting several clients from a Technical Advisor perspective
