We need a Business Data Analyst to support the digital product in Caterpillar’s Aftermarket Leads and Insights department responsible for providing a dealer-centric view of end user part sales to measure services growth. Will you embrace the challenge?As a Business Data Analyst, you will work with our enterprise, industry and/or dealer partners to analyze business questions and data to advance the Caterpillar service parts business. Responsibilities include analyzing and solving business problems using SQL, documenting, and testing requirements, customer support, release note content and training customers and stakeholders.Are you proactive? A Business Data Analyst typically deploys 2 to 3 platforms and/or capabilities with strong technical knowledge of the digital product capabilities and regions they support.

Supports appropriate team members in driving and/or deploying digital execution within the framework of aftermarket enterprise tools, processes and strategies.

Helps manage and organize appropriate information, dashboards, metrics and other reports for team members to use with their partners.

Supports digital projects that identify linkages and synergies across business units, industries and/or Dealers.

Supports proper collaboration, coordination, training, communication and alignment among related areas, projects and strategies within the team and with internal and/or Dealer partners.

Reinforces digital awareness through communication and identity programs in global regions and multiple business units, industry groups and/or Dealers.

This role will help coordinate materials and efforts necessary to convey and execute digital strategy. Supports future-focused assessment of global and industry impact related to digital programs and deployments, and helps other consultants coordinate efforts.

Completes complex data analysis related to user support, aftermarket product segmentation analysis and business requirements for product enhancement projects

Assists other consultants in coordinating efforts and/or gathers information to solve issues and problems requiring careful analysis and diagnosis. Proactively seeks to develop personal digital acumen.

Tracks and monitors progress, typically via metrics reporting.

Other job duties assigned as needed.

What You Will Have:

Software Product Training: Extensive knowledge of software product training; ability to create and deliver training on the implementation, operation and utilization of technology products and systems.

Products and Services: Extensive Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Effectiveness Measurement: Knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement.

Data Models and Analytics: Knowledge of data tools, techniques and methods; ability to assess analytical and data models through the use of statistical principles.

Considerations For Top Candidates:

Typically, four-year Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Marketing, Communications, Engineering or related field.

Typically, 7+ years of job-related experience, generally in eBusiness, Digital Products, Digital Marketing, Business Intelligence, Data Analysis or similar.

Knowledge of current digital capabilities and technologies to access information, be innovative, solve problems, communicate, participate, learn and support others in digital spaces.

Strong attention to detail in order to spot inaccuracies in coding or data

The ability to demonstrate digital capabilities and basic product support experience

Proven communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to partner and build relationships across all levels of the organization from team members to executive management.

Knowledge of Caterpillar Dealer systems and processes

Typically, 3+ years of experience in design and prototyping dynamic views and visualizations for large and complex data sets in Tableau and/or Power BI

Practical experience delivering production deployed solutions

Self-starter and driven while working well in team environment

Create innovative solutions to solve business problems

Experience with data structures principles

Strong knowledge of SQL, DevOps, Excel, Alteryx, Snowflake
