Description We are in search of a meticulous Estimator to join an awesome construction team in Chicago, Illinois. The core duties of this role will involve working on bids, assisting with concrete management, enhancing our estimating procedures, and fostering relationships with clients, engineers, and vendors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the operations of the industry.Responsibilities:

Undertake estimates and develop a list of clarifications, miscellaneous pricing, and scope of work.

Collaborate with the team to utilize BIM for estimating and improve our estimating software.

Attend pre-bid meetings and in-house pre-bid meetings to ensure efficient bid processing.

Assist the Project Manager with submittals and change orders as required.

Provide technical support for projects, including ACI interpretation and take-offs, and pricing for changes.

Conduct random quality control visits to the job sites.

Help in the continuous development of best practices within the team.

Establish and maintain contacts and relationships with clients, engineers, and vendors.

Train incoming estimators and improve take-off and estimating procedures.

Complete full estimates, including creating schedules, reviewing logistics and constructability, and pricing labor and material.

Actively seek out bid opportunities by contacting suppliers, General Contractors, Engineers, Architects, and Publications.

Utilize estimating software and other technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Construction or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 3 experience in estimating, project management, and fieldwork preferred.

Proficiency in Excel and concrete estimating software.

Familiarity with additional software platforms is a plus, but strong technology skills in other platforms will be considered.

Preferred experience with software such as OST (On-Screen Takeoff), document management systems, Revit or similar BIM software, and Tekla.

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Excellent math and analytical skills.
