DIRECTOR EEA CONSOLIDATION
The Hackett Group s Financial Close practice helps organizations view the overall close process to find opportunities for accelerating the completion of the close cycle, especially in a remote setting. Through automation and a managed workflow a company can achieve a world-class close process.

Directors are primarily responsible for overseeing projects and developing business. They apply well-honed consulting, project management and functional skills in the management of major projects. Further, Directors are involved in business development such as project diagnostics, proposal development and sales calls. Director s responsibilities include:
  • Generating business
  • Managing multiple engagement teams
  • Identifying and resolving issues critical to the clients' strategic and operational success
  • Providing technical/functional content in the Close/Consolidation process
  • Presenting conclusions and recommendations to senior client management
  • Providing solution implementation assistance as required
  • Developing leading industry insight to present to clients
  • Managing client relationships
  • Leading, coaching, developing and supervising the efforts of junior staff
  • Active involvement in the development of The Hackett Group s functional/industry practices
  • Active involvement in Firm building activities including recruiting, training, performance management, etc.
Directors will typically have
  • 10+ years related consulting experience with a top tier firm
  • Expertise in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Oracle s Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud (FCCS) and Oracle s Account Reconciliation Cloud (ARCS) applications.
  • Exceptional understanding of Enterprise Performance Management and Business Intelligence within targeted industries and consulting service lines
  • Full commitment to utilizing hands-on technical skills
  • Outstanding client relationship skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional project leadership abilities

Position Summary: The Department of Revenue seeks an experienced and progressive Senior Manager to lead the Corporate Excise Audit Group in its Multistate Audit Bureau. The Director – Corporate Excise manages around 35 employees. The Corporate Excise Group primarily conducts corporate excise (income-based) tax audits of out of state companies who have statutory obligations to file Massachusetts tax returns. The audit function is to determine compliance with statutory and regulatory provisions. The Director – Corporate Excise is responsible for successful governance of the following areas. Directly/indirectly manages the Multistate corporate excise management team and tax audit staff to achieve optimal levels of case completion with the highest level of quality. Works closely with Multistate Bureau Chief, Executive Management and Other Divisions to resolve complex tax issues and determine necessary resources Works with Multistate Bureau Chief and Executive Management to determine proper staffing levels and resources necessary to carry out the Bureau Mission As part of the Modern Work Place initiative, the agency is adopting a hybrid work model. Hybrid work is a mix of in-office work and telework. This position may be designated as either Hybrid (work remotely some days and in-person on other days) or Telework (from a home office). Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of the Multistate Corporate Excise Group, providing senior level direction of all business strategy, tax compliance, quality assurance, and program efficiency. Develop annual business plans for the operations in terms of audit selection and audit completion Ensure quality service by providing a customer-focused work environment with responsive staff and user-friendly technology. Conduct organizational and operational reviews to instill excellence by maximizing resources. Identify performance deficiencies and implement appropriate reforms Adjustbusinesspriorities to meet legislative, operational, or administrative mandates. Identify and implement staffing requirements for efficient operations, maintaining a diverse and inclusive culture that attracts and retains staff, and drives the organization’s mission. Work closely with the Commissioner and management team to create long-term business strategies for the Bureau consistent with Agency guidelines. This position is a Multistate position within the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, but the position is NOT in Massachusetts. The successful candidate is expected to reside and work outside of Massachusetts. The bureau headquarters location is Chicago, but candidates may reside anywhere in the continental US outside of Massachusetts.
