Event Consultants strategize, organize and execute special events and tradeshows for various business units within the Enterprise. This role requires a customer-focused mindset, strong project management skills, the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, and an aspiration to curate and deliver exceptional customer experiences.What You Will Do:

Coordination & Execution of Trade Shows & Events. The projects (events and trade shows) generally are complex in nature and present considerable risk to the enterprise

Manage all aspects of projects, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing project progress. Ensures adherence to project schedules and completion of project goals

Projects often involve participation of 2-4 clients. Clients rely heavily on the incumbent to assist in setting and meeting those identified marketing objectives related to the project. Projects typically are cross business unit in nature, which requires the incumbent to manage multiple client needs simultaneously

Responsible to plan, monitor and control the event budget, identify the site location and theme, conduct contract negotiations and work within established registration systems. Responsible for logistical management, content consultation, all indirect purchases and final budget analysis/ return on investment analysis following the event

Assist with identifying and selecting outside resources to support the project’s success. Negotiate pricing with external service providers, including; hotels, resorts and conference center staff, destination management companies, transportation companies, audiovisual support, entertainment, speaker’s bureau, convention and visitor bureaus, production companies, unions, exhibit halls, stand builders, virtual platform providers, associations, restaurants, etc.

May represent and interface with the executive office, dealer principals, high volume customers and high-profile suppliers both domestically and internationally

Additional Details:

Position requires travel up to 50% including weekends.

This position has the option to be based out of either our Chicago, IL; Peoria, IL; Dallas, TX or Denver, CO offices with a flexible hybrid work environment.

What You Will Have:

Exposure in event consulting and project management.

Knowledge of tradeshow and event management and execution.

Excellent communications & presentation skills, both written & verbal.

Strong customer focus, ability to influence and create immersive customer experiences.

Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants and suppliers).

Ability to collaborate with other business partners, stakeholders and events team

Consideration For Top Candidates:

A bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, or equivalent experience

Knowledge of various Caterpillar products, services, product applications, and dealer network

Excellent teamwork, relationship-building, and communication skills

Strong project and business systems management skills

Good presentation skills
