Additionally, you will also be a part of ongoing performance management across 90+ SPDs nationally, as well as optimizing service of our Sterile Processing Departments and High Level Disinfection Areas. Your goal will be to provide the highest levels of service and hospitality, reducing disruptions found in Sterile Processing Departments and High Level Disinfection Areas, so caregivers can focus on providing care to patients rather than the supplies and instruments needed to do so.Responsibilities
Develop relationships with subject matter experts in Sterile Processing and High Level Disinfection at various sites to establish credibility, lead change, and influence performance expectations.
Leverage analytics to define best practices for the Sterile Processing Departments and High Level Disinfection Areas and develop logistics and operational programs to support achievement of these best practices.
Stay up-to-date with AAMI Industry Standards and TJC requirements, and implement best practices and standard processes proactively in advance of TJC audits.
Facilitate the distribution and understanding of best practices resulting from TJC Audits to other locations throughout Ascension, as well as the standardization of those practices through SOP development and implementation.
Assess operational improvement opportunities and standardization within Sterile Processing Departments and High Level Disinfection.
Perform operational assessment program specific to Sterile Processing and High Level Disinfection operations to identify opportunities for improvement.
Support/address urgent needs related to the service/operations/function of Sterile Processing and High Level Disinfection or logistics and operations as necessary.
Flex into operational and/or sterile processing and high level disinfection roles, as needed, to enhance capacity or support interim gaps.
Serve as a point of contact for patient safety related issues at individual sites.
Provide clear, compelling leadership, strong communication, and executive presence, with an emphasis on developing associates and supporting Ascension’s succession planning.
Reports to: Introspection Team, Director
Collaborates with: Hospital leadership, hospital Sterile Processing departments, departments with High Level Disinfection, Surgical Services, Patient Safety and Compliance, Quality and Regulatory, Infection Prevention, Medxcel, Trimedx, and other operations teams across the country.
RequirementsEducation:
High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Additional PreferencesAdditional Preferences
Master’s Degree preferred
5+ years of combined relevant experience (project management, associate management, Sterile Processing Department knowledge, and High Level Disinfection knowledge).
Willingness and ability to travel 80%.
