Description:
Role
The Formula Optimization and Analytics team will be providing technical and analytical support to ensure all products are produced in compliance with quality and regulatory constraints at an optimal cost. The Manager role is responsible for increasing visibility and uncovering data-driven insights through the creation of analytics solutions, providing business recommendations based on these solutions. This role leverages company optimization and analytics applications for short and mid-term formulation and raw material projections, leveraging input and output data to conduct tactical and strategic analyses. This role works cross-functionally with Research and Development, Plant Operations, and the broader Meal Foundations and Coffee Procurement organization. Success in this role is defined by effectively managing the weekly raw material projections reporting, supporting inputs for optimization and analytics applications, building efficiency and automation around procedures, and additional processes associated with new and established reporting.
Primary Responsibilities
Optimization platform analyticsOwns the day-to-day operation of our weekly planning analytics, utilizing the Quintiq Macro Planner application used for meat formulation and supply chain optimizationProvides recommendations on optimized weekly sourcing to procurement stakeholdersMonitors model inputs, outputs, and optimization settings for any discrepancies or causes of concern, raising them to the team for group resolutionActs as an escalation point for system issues for internal users and resolves or communicates those through the appropriate channel for support
Reporting and AnalyticsImplements new analytics capabilities to combine Quintiq planning data with other Company data sources to develop and enhance insights for business unit and operations leadershipAssists in driving the Meal Foundations and Coffee analytics strategy by soliciting visibility requests from the broader procurement organization, building a pipeline of projects based on priority and impactBuilds and continuously improves data visualization dashboards in Tableau, including establishing back end data pipelines and relational database models that improve data refresh efficiencyAutomates existing reporting and operational processes to increase efficiency and team capacityOwns the end-to-end process for price forecasting to use as an input for formulation optimization
Qualifications
MinimumBachelor's degrees in Operations Research or related technical field (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science) required, master's degree preferredIntermediate to advanced knowledge of data science concepts (e.g. statistical inference, prediction and classification models), including prior experience developing and improving predictive modelsPrior work extracting, cleaning, and enhancing business data from various sources (preferred e.g. SAP, Snowflake, Excel, Access)Experience using functional and object-oriented programming languages for descriptive and predictive analytics (R required; Python a plus)Experience building data visualization dashboards using disparate data sources (Tableau preferred)Strong understanding of relational database models and ability to build, update, and extract data from SQL databasesStrong ability to translate data analysis into actionable insights and tell the story of how those insights impact the business
DesiredManufacturing knowledge/background in combination with the abovePrior experience developing and analyzing linear and mixed integer/linear programsExperience with Quintiq Macro PlannerExperience automating business processes to increase efficiency using functional and object-oriented programming languages5+ years of industry experience in a business analytics, industrial engineering or management consulting type role
