Description:JOB ANNOUNCEMENTProgram Director, BX18Chicago Department of AviationWorkforce Development DivisionNumber of Positions: 2(Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval)Starting Salary: $86,520.00Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT on October 18, 2024 .ESSENTIAL DUTIES· Plan meetings and special events for workforce.· Coordinate outreach efforts and accommodations at events.· Provide direction for staff during the events and functions.· Participate in outreach efforts to provide information regarding contracting & job opportunities; and build relationships with our partners as needed.· Serve as the point of contact for companies interested in doing business at O’Hare and/or Midway International Airports to maximize the potential of securing a contract/bid opportunity.· Ensuring open communication between the interest parties which includes but not limited to.· Planning and scheduling meetings with interested parties.· Communicating the scope of service aviation can provide.· Assist prospective vendors in understanding and utilizing various advertisement channels to identify contract/bid opportunities and contract requirements.· Provide publicly available information from various public sources (e.g., existing vendor contracts, websites from Badging, CMAR, CDA, DPS, and others). The key to this function is knowing the relevant information, communicating it in clear, easy-to-understand terms, and knowing where to refer clients for additional information and resources.· Partnering with community organizations, labor unions, and companies to develop training curriculum and connect skilled workers to available opportunities.Additional duties may be required for this positionLocation: CHICAGO DEPARTMENT OF AVIATION – Midway and O’Hare International AirportsShift: 8:30AM - 4:30PMDays Off: Saturday and SundaysTHIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICEQualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Public Health or a directly related field, plus five years of experience in the planning, implementation or administration of social service, public health or public service programs, of which three years is in a management/supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, provided that the minimum degree requirement is metNOTE: Must be flexible to early and/or late meetings and occasional weekends.NOTE: The candidates selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment.NOTE: This position requires a valid driver’s license at the time of hire.SELECTION REQUIREMENTS : This position requires an applicant to successfully complete an interview.
