Job DescriptionLocation: Chicago, ILHospital: RUSH University Medical CenterDepartment: RHHV Cont Educ-CHSWork Type: Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0)Shift: Shift 1Work Schedule: 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 4:00:00 PM)Summary:Job Summary:Research Partners are essential contributors to the Transforming Chaplaincy research program in the Department of Religion, Health & Human Values. In conjunction with the Director of the Transforming Chaplaincy program they provide leadership for one or more of the program’s research, educational or communication activities. These positions require experience in spiritual care, expertise in clinical research, and exceptional communication and leadership skills. The individuals who holds these positions exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Other information:Required Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Board Certified Chaplain required. Advanced training in research required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Proficiency in Zoom and WebEx. Basic proficiency in either quantitative (e.g., SPSS, SAS) or qualitative (Atlas.ti) analytic software. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, including strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to use one’s time efficiently with minimal direction. Must be responsible and self-motivated.Preferred Job Qualifications: MPH or similar research degree in a relevant discipline (social or basic science) preferred. Advanced proficiency in either quantitative (e.g., SPSS, SAS) or qualitative (Atlas.ti) analytic software preferred.Responsibilities:Job Responsibilities: Provides leadership for one or more research projects Develops grants or research proposals, including project budgets and overseeing regulatory approval Recruits colleagues to collaborate on specific research projects Supervises and/or assists with data collection, data analysis, interpretation and synthesis, preparing reports, manuscripts and presentations. Designs and/or lead webinars, seminars, or webinar/seminars series to develop basic and advanced research literacy for chaplains and their colleagues and to disseminate new information that contributes to improved practice of spiritual care. Develops and supports networks of chaplains who will use research to strengthen clinical practice in specified clinical contexts. Conducts webinars, seminars, journal clubs, and other activities to develop chaplains’ research literacy. Supports sharing of resources and best practices by network participants. Disseminates new information that contributes to improved practice of spiritual care. Develops teams of chaplains and non-chaplain colleagues to conduct research and pilot studies that will lead to improved practice of spiritual care. May undertake other activities to support the Transforming Chaplaincy program as mutually agreed.Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
