The role will serve as a subject matter expert for policies, standards, guidelines and controls and will be responsible for fulfilling risk assessment, governance reporting and governance process automation activities. The ideal candidate will bring a variety of skills, be proactive in solving problems, be able to work independently and part of a team, and be comfortable communicating with many different levels of employees across the organization.Key responsibilities include:
Establish governance reporting and testing strategies to monitor ongoing adoption of and effectiveness of policies, standards, procedures, and controls.
Escalate and manage risk control issues with transparency, as well as effectively creating accountability with those stakeholders to maintain these standards.
Enhance and support the end-to-end processes around integration of new data, process automation and reporting needs across the organization.
Maintain appropriate documentation for stakeholders to follow when creating, modifying or decommissioning processes including the collection of relevant artifacts and sign-off.
Collaborate with various Risk stripes, data management, technology and line of business partners to identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency and accuracy.
Assist in the review of the team’s practices self-identifying any risks to the team or organization as a whole. Review and monitor key performance indicators for the team while also identifying any need for additional key or non-key controls.
Provide ad-hoc analytical support to the team as needed.
Key Accountabilities
Support the Head of Risk Business Intelligence Delivery in streamlining governance across the team while building a center of excellence and single point of contact for BI needs.
Lead efforts to convert the siloed team structure to centralized processes for intakes, collaboration with Enterprise, Technology and the Data Management Office,
Partner and collaborate with Risk Management teams, Technology, Modeling, and Line of Business teams to design and implement interactive BI reporting capabilities to support the ongoing Risk BI delivery initiative for the team.
Perform risk and control analysis, including identification, assessment, monitoring and measuring of data risks, by incorporating and understanding information from a variety of sources to recommend a course of action
Support the head of Risk BI Delivery in enhancing communications and roll-out of new practices across the team and respective lines of business as needed.
Participate and collaborate in the creation of a culture that promotes adherence to the larger goals of the organization and incorporates recent market trends and regulatory guidance.
Qualifications
Successful candidates must exhibit CIBC’s values of trust, team work, and accountability
Candidate must have 5+ years of experience in Risk Management, Governance or related work experience
Bachelor’s degree with major in business administration, finance, accounting or related are area is preferred
Ability to collaborate effectively and follow up to ensure achievement of deadlines, outcomes and results.
Ability to effectively present information within and across team both verbally and in writing.
Superior time management skills, with ability to effectively prioritize
Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Forms, PowerPoint, PowerBI
