The Director of Construction is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of all construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in construction management, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration. The Director will work closely with the Interior Design Director to align construction timelines with design milestones, evaluate design feasibility, and maintain the seamless integration of design and construction efforts. This role involves managing project teams, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring all construction activities are compliant with industry regulations and aligned with organizational goals.

ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategic OversightProvide overall leadership to the construction department, including setting vision, direction, and standards.Develop and implement construction strategies that align with the company’s long-term objectives.Act as the primary liaison with executive leadership on construction progress, performance, and resource needs.Integrated Project ManagementOversee all phases of construction from pre-construction through final delivery, ensuring seamless integration with design objectives.Align construction timelines with interior design schedules, ensuring feasibility and quality.Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting.Monitor project milestones, proactively manage risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure success.Team Leadership & DevelopmentRecruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of project managers, engineers, and construction personnel.Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and results-driven culture that encourages innovation and accountability.Support the professional development of team members through coaching, training, and performance evaluations.Stakeholder & Vendor EngagementCollaborate with architects, engineers, designers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve challenges and ensure alignment.Manage relationships with clients, vendors, and key stakeholders to ensure transparency, trust, and high-quality outcomes.Communicate progress reports, expectations, and changes to stakeholders regularly.Quality Assurance & Safety ComplianceEstablish and enforce strict quality control standards and procedures.Conduct regular site visits to ensure work meets company, regulatory, and safety standards.Promote and uphold a culture of safety and compliance across all job sites.Financial & Resource ManagementCreate and manage comprehensive construction budgets for each project.Track expenditures, approve change orders, and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising project integrity.Risk Management & Contingency PlanningAnticipate potential risks such as supply chain issues, labor shortages, or site constraints.Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to maintain project continuity.Performs other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standards#LI-AS1
