Provide excellent client service to multi-state companies with large commercial real estate portfolios; manage current engagements and client relationships to foster expansion opportunities, support Business Development activities as a jurisdictional specialist and subject matter expert
Demonstrate full understanding of the annual property tax cycle for real estate portfolios, strong understanding of jurisdictional rules and filing requirements around real property protests, review assessment notices to identify opportunities for tax savings
Supervise staff to ensure successful completion of tasks; review Associates' and Senior Associates' work product to continually develop their skillset
Work with State and Local officials to advocate for our clients around various property tax matters
Build client relationships and professional networks through regular contact with Partners, Managing Directors, Clients, Prospects, and State and Local Tax Officials
Develop professional skillset through continuing education events
Qualifications:
Minimum eight years of recent experience in real property tax
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
Licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM, CMI or MTX, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing, any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials, should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list
Valuation experience across a broad range of property types, both real and personal preferred, including a strong grasp for all approaches to value
Experience with various other taxes and their impact on property tax
Strong writing, research, and communication skills, excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task while meeting internal and external deadlines
