This work is generally at the direction of a senior office personnel and may range from simple data entry to more complex financial analysis, as required. The ideal candidate would have intellectual curiosity, ability to spot the unusual and tenacity to discover the cause, willingness to look at detail without missing or losing the ‘big picture’, readiness to accept that everything one does will be challenged, and confidence to handle confrontation, pressure and deadlines. As a member of the Global Forensics and Litigations Services (GFLS) Internship Program you will have the opportunity to:

Learn and execute meaningful work engagements that have an impact on the business

Collaborate with experienced Staff, Seniors, Managers and Partners with specialized experience and technical knowledge across numerous industries and services

The ability to meet Baker Tilly employees from partner to staff

Assist with designing financial models to include discounted cash flow, market multiple and intangible asset analyses

Assist with conducting and performing forensic financial analysis, building financial models, maintaining documents produced in litigation, summarizing depositions and writing Expert Reports

Research and analyze factors affecting valuations and prepare cash flow forecasts and financial models

Preform quality control review of analyses and assist with document review

Demonstrates the ability to carry out basic relevant research (internet-based and site visits) proficiently

Demonstrates strong competency in MS Office (Excel, Word), able to perform advanced functions in Excel

Demonstrates consistent development of technical skills, accuracy, timelines, and thoroughness in completing work assignments

Searches for origin of entries and unrecorded transactions; reviews and verifies source documents

Demonstrates the ability to anticipate the next steps in a project, and suggest methods and solutions to supervisory personnel

Work with other staff providing valuation, financial advisory, litigation support and investigative services

Analyzes client documents; understands the flow of information/ documentation; summarizes relevant information

Analyzes and calculates percentage of sales/revenue and expense relationships and ratio analyses

Reviews own work and co-workers' correspondence and work product for errors

Attends professional organizations, client functions, events, lunches, industry functions, presentations, and seminars as directed

Carry out the quantification of claims on behalf of Insurers, Loss Adjusters, Lawyers and others

Analyze data and financial / non-financial information and apply a forensic approach to the work

Prepare clear, concise reports which can be understood by non-accountants

Be flexible and responsive to client needs, in particular being available for meetings at times and places stipulated by the client. This can involve working long days and tight deadlines

Successful candidates will meet the following requirements:· Be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2019/2020 school year in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant degree· Availability to begin full-time employment in the summer of 2021· Outstanding academic performance with a minimum overall GPA of a 3.0 required with at least a 3.2 GPA preferred· Relevant internship, work experience and/or involvement with a professional organization· The ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel in various industries· Excellent written/verbal communication and collaboration skills· Superb problem solving skills and the ability to navigate an ambiguous and ever-changing work environment· Ability to multi task and manage competing priorities with excellent time management skills· Be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship as a full-time employee· Be available to travel as needed for client projectsiCIMS Job ID: 12639 External Company Name: Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP Street: 205 North Michigan Avenue
