Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Cook to join our café and deli team. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for fresh ingredients, consistent quality, and teamwork. As a Cook, you’ll prepare and plate menu items with care, maintain a clean and efficient kitchen, and help deliver an exceptional dining experience for every guest.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items including breakfast plates, sandwiches, soups, salads, and specials according to café recipes and standards.
Ensure consistent food quality and presentation for all orders.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, fryers, ovens, and slicers.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures at all times.
Monitor stock and inventory, alerting management when supplies need replenishment.
Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO).
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, prep areas, and storage spaces.
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
Work efficiently under pressure, especially during peak service hours.
Requirements
Previous cook or kitchen experience preferred (café, restaurant, or deli experience a plus).
Strong knowledge of food safety and handling practices.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy kitchen environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic.
Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays.
