Our family of restaurants, nana, Ajo and Taco E, all located in the same building at 33rd and Halsted is currently seeking individuals to fill front of the house and a lead line cook.
Front House Team Members answer the phones, take orders and submit them through our POS system, process payment, make coffee drinks, do light preparation to keep condiments stocked, restock disposable items and are responsible for light cleaning duties at the end of the shift.
The ideal candidate for this position should have barista experience, be friendly, professional, articulate and can maintain a positive, calm attitude during busy peak periods of business. Good organization skills and the ability to multi-task are also important. Candidates must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, be able to lift up to 30 pounds, can go up and down stairs without difficulty and are not opposed to wearing a face mask to cover their nose and mouth for the entire shift.
The P.M. lead line cook will oversee the cooking and preparation of food items together as a unit. This individual will set up the kitchen line at the start of the shift and break it down at the end, execute food orders in the kitchen as they are processed, use down time to prep make-ahead items, properly label all containers, maintain a clean work space and thoroughly clean the kitchen at the end of the shift.
This individual should be familiar with the kitchen line and have at least 2 years experience working in a similar capacity as a Line or Prep Cook. They are able to work fast without errors, can lift up to 30 pounds, can be on their feet for longer periods of time, are capable of walking up and downstairs without difficulty, and can wear a face mask to cover their nose and mouth for the entire shift as part of the uniform.
