The primary role of the Full-Time Merchandiser is to ensure products are properly stocked, displayed, and rotated in large and small-format “off-premise” stores. The FTM also supports sales efforts by building relationships with customers and identifying upselling opportunities. This role demands professionalism, focus, passion, and responsibility.
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $21.00 per hour
Duration: January 15, 2025 – April 4, 2025
Schedule: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday | 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (approximately)
Work Location: Merchandising route is located around Schaumburg, IL. The base location is in Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Expectations
- Ensure products are rotated and maintained according to standards to minimize Out of Code and Damaged Product issues.
- Maintain equipment to company standards: clean, functional, and premium presentation.
Execution:
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and State/Federal regulations, including driver logs, mileage records, and training documentation.
- Follow company merchandising processes and routines.
- Monitor competitor activities, including new launches and price adjustments, and share findings with the sales team.
- Communicate with the Account Sales Manager about damaged or out-of-code products, out-of-stock items, and Quality Point of Distribution (QPOD) opportunities.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with retail managers.
Building Success:
- Collaborate with the sales team on new programs and large displays.
- Share best practices and work collaboratively across the organization.
- Represent the company professionally through responsible driving and market presence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Reliable vehicle for work purposes with minimum insurance coverage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in customer service and sales interactions.
- Strong mathematical, technical (smartphone), and organizational skills.
- Exceptional time management and punctuality.
- Fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior merchandising experience is a plus.
- Additional language skills are an advantage.
Physical Demands:
- Regular use of hands, arms, and verbal communication.
- Frequent walking and sitting.
- Occasional standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Specific vision abilities required, including close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
