Essential Functions:

- Bake the items that are on the menu and have them ready in time for the morning.

- Minimum 1 year experience in prep or bakery

- Make specialty rolls, bread, pastries, croissants, muffins, etc. as needed by the management of bakery

- Follow the formulas set forth by bakery management on a consistent basis to keep the quality and good cost constant

- Prepare items that are needed for the following days consumption

- Keep working area in good sanitary order and rotate both stock and service finished as well as semi-finished goods to achieve the highest quality products

- Inform the head baker of all items in progress or action to be taken prior to your return

- Perform all other duties when asked in order to assure the smooth running of the operation

- Work as a “team” member to assure constant and consistent quality, service, cleanliness and value to each customer

- Clean work area, organize and stock needed items

- Stock and execute proper rotation of products

- Coordinate with bakery management of inventory needed

- Inform immediate supervisor promptly of all problems or unusual matters of significance

- Support and adhere Company Standards for Operations.

Qualification Standards:

- Prepares bread, rolls, muffins, cupcakes, scones, biscuits, croissants cakes, and all other pastries according to recipe

- Checks production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake

- Measures ingredients, using measuring cups and spoons

- Mixes ingredients to form dough or batter by hand or using electric mixer

- Cuts dough into uniform portions with knife or divider

- Molds dough into loaves or desired shapes

- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

- Places pans of dough in proof box to rise

- Inserts pans of raised dough in oven to bake, using peel

- Adjusts drafts or thermostatic controls to regulate oven temperature

- Removes baked goods from oven and places goods on cooling rack

- May bake pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries

- Must have excellent customer service skills: exhibit good manners, proper personal hygiene, positive attitude, and promptness.

- Adhere to proper bakery uniform standards.

- Must have a food handing certificate (Permit issued by the City of New York)

Job Type: Part time or Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour depending on experience

Must be able to open bakery a 2 days a week at 3:00am

Expected hours: 40 hours per week
