PITMASTER WANTED
OVERVIEW:
SLAB BBQ is a family owned and fast growing BBQ restaurant on Chicago’s South side. We are looking to hire a cook/pitmaster. The ideal candidate should have experience working on an aquarium style pit, cooking over an open flame and ability to operate in a fast paced environment.
The desired candidate must be reliable, punctual, have a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, must have reliable transportation, able to multi-task, have pride in food presentation, pay attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Job Description:
Ability to operate an aquarium pit
Ability to cook over an open flame
Knowledge of fire safety
Must be able to stand long periods of time
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Must maintain work-station cleanliness
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Schedule: Prefer someone flexible to workdays, evenings and weekends:
Holidays are mandatory
Salary: Pay is based upon experience
Candidate must be able to provide references
