Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our kitchen by preparing ingredients and assisting with various food preparation tasks. You will work closely with our kitchen staff to uphold the highest standards of food quality and consistency.
Responsibilities:
>Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and portion sizes provided by the Kitchen Manager
>Assist in the preparation of a variety of food items
>Follow proper food handling procedures and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen at all times
>Stock and organize inventory, including rotating and dating products to ensure freshness
>Assist with receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality of products
>Maintain a clean and organized work area, including washing and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
>Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper handling and storage of potentially hazardous foods
>Collaborate with other kitchen team members to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks
>Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management regarding any issues or concerns related to food preparation or kitchen operations.
>Assist with additional duties as assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Manager
Qualifications:
>Previous experience working in a kitchen environment as prep or line cook
>Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices
>Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks as needed
>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
>Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
>Must be able to work weekends
This position is part-time with flexibility around schedule.
