Chicago’s Home of Chicken & Waffles is an independently owned company with 3 restaurants, one of which opened last summer in Nashville, TN. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and are working to expand into new markets throughout the country. CHOCW is seeking Managers, for our Oak Park location, that are all about providing outstanding guest service. Who We’re Looking For:
Flawless dining experiences don’t just happen. We need dependable, disciplined, detail-oriented Managers to MAKE it happen. Our Managers are responsible for the effective operation of the restaurant to ensure a top-notch dining experience for all guests.
What You Bring:
We’re looking for natural-born leaders—or at least candidates who have learned to be along the way. You must take a “lead by example” approach and be able to create a positive team culture. There are a lot of moving parts and people, so your ability to organize and plan the efforts of an entire group is critical. Here are a few things you can expect to do during a typical day:
Provide hands-on leadership in day-to-day operations, directly supervising and assisting the team.
Interview, select, hire and train kitchen and FOH staff in accordance with top notch standards.
Supervise, coach and mentor team members to create an environment that encourages the development and growth of everyone.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of action for service staff needs. Prepare schedules and ensure that staff is in place for all shifts.
Prepare performance reviews and provide assessment of team members’ performance and development, along with ongoing coaching and team support.
Where You’ve Been:
A High School diploma, or equivalent, as well as 2+ years of previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant, bar or coffee shop, in a supervisory role. Previous Server experience is also a plus. Background check will also be required.
When You’re Here:
This probably goes without saying, but you’ll be on your feet a lot. There will be occasions when you may be carrying/lifting up to 40 pounds, walking, bending/twisting and climbing stairs. You also must be able to accommodate varying schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Pay is based upon experience.
General Manager - hourly first 30 days, with competitive salary to follow
Assistant Manager - hourly $21 to $24 per hour, based upon experience
