We are to also help you by expanding your skills with customer service, coffee experience, computer task and daily organization with cleaning and keeping our cafe looking beautiful and inviting.
Job Description: We are seeking a dependable, organized, and outgoing individual to join our team as a Part-Time Team Member and Market Associate. In this role, you will supporting, Mindful Baking—a 100% gluten-free and vegan bakery and cafe—in two ways:
As a Team Member, you will be responsible for all aspects of the daily operations of our 100% gluten-free and vegan cafe, including FOH & BOH responsibilities such as preparing food and drinks, cake orders, inventory management, and providing stellar customer service to our guest. (Please note, that cleaning is a must for this position. Also, being a self starter by continuing to help us grow as a company and become better for our customers.)
As a Market Associate, you’ll be responsible for selling our products at our growing roster of winter pop-up events during our fall and winter season. The role involves representing Mindful Baking at multiple weekly, offsite events. Each shift includes: picking up baked goods from our wholesale kitchen, setting up a pop-up market booth to sell the goods, and returning to the commissary at 4201 N. Ravenswood for closing tasks. (We are willing to offer more an hour for someone who owns a car, to get back and fourth from event and back to bakery.) The ideal candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, early evenings, and weekends, and must be a licensed driver with access to their own reliable, insured vehicle with ample room for transporting market goods.
Previous cafe experience is required. Sales experience is a plus, as is an interest in supporting vegan companies and the desire to grow with a small, independent business.
Cafe Operations Tasks:
Provide outstanding customer service while preparing/serving a variety of baked goods, desserts, savory foods, and specialty drinks, while staying up to date on menu changes. Stay in close daily contact with the Owner, Cafe Manager, and Bakery Staff regarding inventory needs, customer feedback, etc. Stay up-to-date on weekly offerings/new products so you can answer customer questions. Prepare food and drink orders according to our recipes and high standards.
Become an expert on Mindful Baking’s offerings and be a knowledgeable and helpful resource for customers who need suggestions or ingredient details. Manage custom cake order schedule and handle customer phone orders.
Performing FOH and BOH daily and weekly stocking and cleaning tasks as assigned. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Basic knowledge of vegan and gluten-free products is a plus, and the desire to learn about our menu is a must.
An interest in supporting vegan companies and small, independent businesses is a plus.
Salary: The salary for this position is $17 per hour to start, and includes the following benefits:

For Market Shifts: Mileage reimbursement for getting to/from the bakery and various markets/events.
