The Lucky Platter in Evanston is looking to fill 2 part time positions. It could be 1 full time position for the uniquely situated individual.
Server (part time - 2 shifts a week to start)
- fast paced and experience with a breakfast diner is almost a necessity - definitely a huge plus.
- able to multi task and handle busy AND slow times (slow times can foster more mistakes ;)
- very much a positive people person who enjoys the craft of serving.
- some level of culinary arts understanding and appreciation
- able to be on their feet for 6-8 hours.
- reliable transportation
- 10 minutes early is on time mentality.
- service industry cannot expect holidays/weekends off very often.
- able to learn how we do things here at our restaurant and be flexible.
- naturally curious about food and will learn the menu.
This is a tipshare house for the FOH and we need everyone to pull their weight evenly. This requires an ability to check your ego at the door. We only hire kind people that naturally put other's needs first ;) Our server average $36-$42/hr. depending on shifts worked and total hours.
Catering Manager:
We are looking for someone with experience with this. This position does not exist here at the Lucky Platter and we desperately need to remedy that. Currently when we get requests for catering we have to build the order from the ground up for each inquiry. This is inefficient and time consuming. We are looking for someone to build and implement a catering program.
Compensation package will depend on the experience, time commitment of the individual and of course, success of the program.
Likely the candidate will have culinary arts training that has desire to avoid a more traditional kitchen job.
