Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Patient Registration Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures and insurance verification processes.
Duties:
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits for medical services
- Communicate with physician's office and insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations
- Update patient records with accurate insurance information and demographic information during check in
- Work closely with medical billing team to ensure accurate claims processing
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and guidelines
- Utilize ICD-10 coding knowledge for accurate verification
Experience:
- Previous experience in insurance verification
- Familiarity with managed care plans and medical coding procedures
- Proficiency in navigating electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Strong understanding of insurance terminology and benefits verification
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
