A leading manufacturer of high quality cold heading steel products is looking for an experienced HR Manager to support the overall day to day human resources need of Chicago plant. The location is Chicago Midway Airport area, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. This position is not remote and hybrid , requiring commuting.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the HR department and supervising a HR generalist, Seymour plant, and payroll and benefits specialists.
- Recruiting and hiring - Sourcing candidates, conducting interviews and making hiring decision.
- On boarding - Facilitating new hire orientation and insuring smooth and positive on boarding experience for new hire.
- Employee engagement and retention - Implementing strategies to keep employees engaged, motivated and satisfied.
- Performance evaluations - Initiating 90 day and anniversary reviews and collecting the reviews from each department manager.
- Compensation and benefits - Developing a compensation plan and managing benefits program, including annual insurance
negotiations. Conducting annual health insurance enrollment including ADP benefits updates and 401k plan management.
- Policy Development - developing, updating and implementing HR policies including employee handbook review and update.
- Daily Administration
- Responsible for reviewing ADP time and attendance hours and weekly.
- Reporting hours worked by the department to the management, analyzing and improving hours.
- Handling personal leaves, FMLA leaves and STD leaves.
- Maintain monthly newsletter.
- Planning and implementing the corporate events.
- Assisting with other projects as necessary.
Qualifications
- 5 years or more experience in HR role
- Bachelor's degree in HR or business or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications
- Experience with ADP
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
