Apartment Maintenance Technician:
Our Apartment Maintenance Technicians are responsible for working in collaboration with the rest of the maintenance team in performing repair and maintenance activities in and around the buildings that make up Coventry Glen, our 280-unit multi-family apartment community in Round Lake, IL.
Job duties include, but are not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electric, painting, appliance repair, pool maintenance, completing work orders, and other residential maintenance tasks. Maintenance Technicians may also perform heavy manual labor in and about facility, such as moving, lifting, stocking, or transporting materials.
HVAC experience and/or appliance repair experience a must!
COMPENSATION: $22 - 29 per hour, dependent on experience and certifications. HVAC experience and certification are required to earn the upper end of the posted pay scale.
Maintenance Technicians are required to be on-call every 5 to 6 weeks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Carpentry duties – including, but not limited to, replacement and repair of interior and exterior doors, windows, deck repair, drywall repair, and painting.
Electrical work – including, but not limited to, changing bulbs, ballasts, fixtures, replacing switches, outlets, bathroom ventilation fans, replacement of batteries in alarm panels, exit lights, smoke and CO2 detectors, etc.
Plumbing work – including, but not limited to, backups or leaking drains and toilets, replacement of faucets and garbage disposals, hot water tank installation, etc.
Appliances – installation, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of major components such as motors, pumps, circuit boards, belts, filters, ignitors, etc.
HVAC – routine maintenance and repairs, installation of thermostats, troubleshooting, and replacement of ignitors, sensor, and motors.
Safety – assesses and considers the safety of community residents and staff in performing tasks.
Performs all other related duties, as assigned by the Property Manager as needed.
Regular and punctual attendance. Job schedule is Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm with a one-hour lunch break. During the week of being on-call, the technician needs to be available 24/7.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Property maintenance: 1 year (REQUIRED).
Valid driver’s license (REQUIRED).
Work collaboratively with staff members to accomplish tasks and objectives (REQUIRED).
HVAC experience and/or appliance repair experience (REQUIRED).
