We are looking for a few good people to join our team installing and maintaining drip irrigation systems in gardens across Chicago.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a unique seasonal job, working with your hands in the great urban outdoors. We are looking for someone who is reliable and eager to work 3 to 5 days per week.
We install and maintain above-ground, efficient drip irrigation systems in beautiful, high-end residential landscapes in Chicago. Prior experience working with watering systems is a plus, but not required.
Required qualifications:
- Valid drivers' license and reliable access to vehicle (jobs are located across Chicago, concentrated on the north side of the city);
- Ability to quickly learn technical aspects of our irrigation systems to install, maintain and troubleshoot issues;
- Experience with landscaping, irrigation or manual labor;
- Attention to detail to make sure all jobs meet our standard of excellence;
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job (to lift heavy materials, work in inclement weather, fit in small spaces);
- Good communication skills;
- Good organizational skills (to track hours, inventory used, work completed, etc.);
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as work independently and think creatively to solve problems;
- Interest in learning about drip and micro-irrigation;
- Positive attitude;
- Reliable access to smart phone, willingness to use our dispatching and inventory software on your smartphone.
Hours: Seasonal, Spring through November, depending on weather. Hours range from 20 to 40 hours per week based on availability and demand; more hours will be given to folks that learn quickly, are reliable, and want to take on more responsibility.
