We are an established and growing high-end renovation company seeking a talented and experienced Interior Design Manager to lead our design team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the design process and deliver exceptional residential remodeling projects.

Position Overview

The Interior Design Manager is responsible for creating accurate construction drawings, facilitating client selections, and coordinating all design-related activities with the sales and production teams. This role involves both creative and operational responsibilities, ensuring every project meets the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Documentation

Photograph and measure project sites to produce accurate conceptual drawings.

Develop detailed construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, wall sections, and reflected ceiling plans, in compliance with building codes and company standards.

Collaborate with vendors and fabricators to provide specifications and secure accurate estimates.

Client Interaction

Guide clients through the selection process, ensuring clear communication, setting expectations, and obtaining timely approvals.

Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing design-related questions and concerns during the project.

Project Coordination

Collaborate with sales and production teams to ensure seamless project handoffs and execution.

Participate in pre-construction meetings with clients, sales reps, and production teams to review plans, selections, and project details.

Address design or specification issues during construction promptly and professionally.

Material & Budget Management

Manage special-order materials, ensuring timely procurement and delivery to meet project schedules.

Review vendor invoices for accuracy and reconcile against project estimates.

Maintain budget alignment and ensure clients are informed of all design fees and costs.

Organization & Process

Maintain detailed project binders, including meeting notes, photos, and approvals.

Organize and update all project documentation in real-time for effective team communication.

Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for process improvement.

Professional Development

Stay informed on industry trends, new products, and pricing updates through continuing education.

Represent the company at seminars, product knowledge events, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field.

At least 5 years of experience in high-end residential remodeling.

Proficiency in CAD or Chief Architect drafting software.

Strong ability to create comprehensive construction documents for permitting and construction.

Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.

Ability to travel to project sites in the near western suburbs of Chicago.

Compensation

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a hybrid structure. The role allows for working from home but requires frequent site visits and in-person meetings as needed to ensure the success of each project.
