CNC SetUp - Vertical Lathe- 2nd Shift

A Manufacturer of fabricated metal components and assemblies, CNC machining, grinding, tool & die building, repair/rebuild, metal stampings, metal fabrication work and welding services seeking several reliable CNC Set-Up (Vertical Lathes) for the 2nd shift with 3+years related experience in setting up CNC Lathes, at least 1-year with Fanuc controlled CNC Vertical Lathes.

SUMMARY OF JOB:

This position is responsible for setting up Vertical CNC Lathes on existing parts as well as creating setups and programs for new parts.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

CNC Vertical Lathe experience required

Conduct/assist with machine programming and setups

Use measurements equipment (bore, height & thread gages, calipers, micrometers and optical comparator)

Determine required in-process quality checks

Provide training to machine operators on setup and production processes

Generate and document work instructions, setup procedures and inspection sheets

Support Management with special testing/projects

Assist with "root cause analysis" on machining failures

Monitor ongoing quality levels of machined products to proactively identify opportunities for improvement (Cost of Quality, Cycle

Time Reduction, Tool Cost, etc)

Operate CNC Lathe and milling machines to produce engineering samples

QUALIFICATION:

Minimum 3-years related experience in setting up CNC Lathe, at least 1-year with Fanuc controlled CNC Vertical Lathe

Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD & T)

Extensive experience CNC Programming, setup, and the efficient operation of CNC Lathe

Experienced with the fixturing and machining of castings and welded fabrication

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with a variety of abstract

and concrete variables

Basic algebra and trigonometry

Microsoft Office Suite (Word / Excel)

Must be a self-starter, comfortable working in a team environment

Ability to effectively manage, multi-tasks, adhering to strict deadlines and commitments

Creative thinker with the ability to raise the bar in CNC machining

Ability to correspond effectively with co-workers, customers, and vendors

Must be able to remain in a stationary position over 75% of the time

Lift up to 50lbs.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Available to work OT when needed including Saturday

LONG TERM WITH FULL TIME OPPORTUNITY AFTER 720 HOURS WORKED PROGRAM:

2nd Shift: Monday to Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. (up to 2-hours of OT each working day and available for Saturday 6-hours of OT)
