Our client, a precision manufacturer located in the Wheeling/Buffalo Grove area, seeks an experienced lube technician to monitor and replenish coolant in their manufacturing equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Lubrication of Equipment:
Apply the correct types and amounts of lubricants to machines as specified in technical manuals.
Regularly check and refill oil, grease, and coolant levels in machinery and equipment.
Monitor lubrication points and ensure they are free of dirt, debris, and contaminants.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure compliance with machine shop safety regulations and industry standards.
Properly dispose of used oils, greases, and other hazardous materials following local and company guidelines.
Collaboration:
Work closely with machinists, mechanics, and maintenance staff to ensure timely lubrication and maintenance.
Provide feedback to the maintenance supervisor regarding any observed issues with machines.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of lubrication schedules, maintenance performed, and materials used.
Keep a log of any machine issues and repairs carried out.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Reliable and motivated to learn skills on the job.
Accountable and able to learn to mistakes.
Mechanically minded, curious of how things work. Automotive or home DIY hobbyist is a plus.
Ability to read and understand maintenance schedules.
Good attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward preventive maintenance.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience as a lube technician in automotive shop is a plus.
Experience working mechanically on vehicles is a plus.
