Position Summary:
The Maintenance Foreman shall become responsible for managing a team of maintenance technicians and coordinating the general day to day maintenance of an industrial production plant and all related equipment throughout the facility.
Typical job tasks include:
Daily boiler maintenance and chemical additions
Scheduled maintenance and emergency repair of production equipment as well as physical building/plant
Maintenance and repair of all plant steam supply and condensate return piping, steam traps and process bath steam coils throughout facility
Handling malfunctions and emergency situations
Facilitate and monitor the ordering and receipt of supplies, spare parts, tools and other required inventory
Mentor and train additional facility maintenance technicians in overall system principals, operation and maintenance
Respond to off-shift outages or emergencies as required
Job requirements:
Reacts well under pressure
Follows 5s lean principles and safety rules
3-5 years of experience in facility maintenance in an industrial setting as a team leader / manager
Knowledge of steam boiler operation principles, controls, safety devices, piping, trap usage, repair and maintenance
Thorough experience with both low and high voltage industrial wiring and controls including motors, pumps, lighting, automated systems and PLCs
Experience with compressed air system operation, maintenance and repair
Experience in pipe fitting, installation and maintenance and repair
Thorough working knowledge of shop and hand tools to perform required maintenance
Familiar using CMMS / work order software systems
Familiar with OSHA regulations and safe work practices; LOTO, PPE
Ability and willingness to work in an industrial environment
Physical requirements: Ability to perform heavy work; must be able to lift 40-50 lbs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms. Ability to climb ladders and/or use scissor/man lifts to perform occasional overhead work at a height of 15-20’
