WHO WE ARE: (Buscando un Handyman! Si habla español, está bien, pero necesita poder hablar inglés)
We are a successful family-owned company, that manages 33 buildings (160 apartments total), located in Bucktown and Wicker Park. Our small team of 4 is in search of another handyman who is looking for the freedom of a flexible work schedule. If you have a diverse skill set, a positive attitude, and do high quality work, we would love to have you join our team.
To qualify you MUST:
- Live in Chicago near Bucktown, Wicker Park
- Have reliable transportation
- Have all necessary tools for apartment repairs
- Be able to use a computer and smart phone, for email & apps & programs on the web.
- Be looking for long-term employment
SKILLS REQUIRED: (The ideal candidate should have overall knowledge of all of the skills below)
Able to move heavy objects like appliances and washing machines
Electrical: change light fixtures, ceiling fans, circuit breakers, run conduit and new circuits
Appliances: repair & diagnose problems with all types of appliances (including Fridges and Laundry machines)
Plumbing: change or repair faucet, fix leaks, clear clogs, sweat copper pipes, run gas lines, run PVC drains
HVAC: diagnose problems, repair flame & pressure sensors, igniters, limit switches, etc.
Drywall: Painting and patching, drywall and plaster, including mudding and taping.
Windows: replace broken windows, panes, screens, etc.
Carpentry: frame a wall or hang a door, install trim, change locks, hang blinds
Tiling: ability to tile bathrooms or kitchens or floors
Lawn Care & Snow Removal: keeping properties clean of trash and weeds.
Perform apartment turnovers for move-ins (inspect apartments, fix what is broken, paint, clean).
Cleaning of apartments, when necessary, post construction, or for turnovers
Perform scheduled maintenance, like changing HVAC filters
Periodically inspect all buildings, units and common areas, performing repairs as needed.
Report all lease violations, incidents, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS: (Details to accomplish the jobs)
- Must work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be dependable and prompt and be able to communicate well.
- You need to be able to speak English
