School Crossing Guard (Glenview, IL)

Advanced Security Solutions is currently looking for crossing guards for the Glenview School District. Shifts are between 1hr-1.5hr long (2 shifts: AM and PM-MUST WORK BOTH), we will pay a minimum of 3hrs per day.

MUST RESIDE IN SURROUNDING SUBURB OF GLENVIEW, IL.

Job Duties:

- Observe, report, deter, direct information and compete incident reports.

- Safely guide pedestrians, especially children, across designated crosswalks.

- Ensure the safety of pedestrians by monitoring traffic flow and controlling the movement of pedestrians.

- Communicate with drivers to ensure they are aware of pedestrians and adhere to traffic laws.

- Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs in crossing the street.

- Maintain a visible presence and act as a deterrent to potential traffic violations near the crosswalk.

- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to crossing guard duties.

- Report any incidents or concerns to appropriate authorities and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- Basic medical examination to verify that the candidate can safely perform the essential functions of the job, as a Crossing Guard.

- Vision exam to verify that the candidate has at least 20/40 vision, with or without corrective lenses. If a candidate requires corrective lenses, the report from the medical provider conducting the pre-employment medical examination must note whether the candidate is qualified for the position with corrective lenses.

- Hearing exam to verify that the candidate is able to hear at 40 decibels or better, with or without a hearing aid(s). If a candidate requires a hearing aid(s), the report from the medical provider conducting the pre-employment medical examination must note whether the candidate is qualified for the position with hearing aid(s).

- Drug and alcohol test, the drug test shall include a 10-panel non-DOT drug and alcohol screen. The screen (s) must be processed by a laboratory certified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and conform to S.A.M.H.S.A. standards.
