Job Title: Security Officer
Location: Downtown Chicago
Start Date: You may be working as soon as, the week of your application being accepted.
Duties:
- Patrol assigned areas on foot to ensure the safety and security of the premises
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect and prevent unauthorized activity
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances or suspicious activity
- Enforce property rules and regulations to maintain order and protect property
- Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of security-related activities
- Must ensure a high level of vigilance while standing a post.
Skills:
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification
- Conflict management skills to handle difficult situations calmly and effectively
- Knowledge of loss prevention techniques to prevent theft or damage to property
- Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and protocols
- Ability to quickly assess situations and make sound decisions under pressure
- First aid certification is preferred but not required
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old- High school diploma or equivalent is required- Prior experience in security or a related field is preferred but not required- Must have a valid driver's license (or reasonable means of transportation)
-Permanent employee registration card (PERC) preferred
