Head of Sales

Whale Supply is an eCommerce distributor of business and industrial supplies based in Chicago. We are an entrepreneurial, growth-minded business focused on supporting businesses’ supply needs and backed by more than 20 years in the digital distribution space.

Our team has an opening for a Head of Sales who will identify and qualify new business opportunities and service existing customers to increase sales. This position will report directly to the President of Whale Supply. The successful Head of Sales candidate will have an uncapped growth opportunity to take on new challenges and expand their skill set in a fast-paced environment. This role includes sourcing and qualifying new leads and opportunities, cold calling, relationship building, and providing unmatched customer service.

Head of Sales

Responsibilities:

Develops new and grows existing relationships from leads, referrals, and prospects.

Researches, qualifies, and follows up with new leads via outbound calls.

Creates and maintains a database of leads and established customers.

Develops and manages sales growth/relationship-building targets.

Establishes and maintains relationships with key contacts and decision-makers in new and established accounts.

Explains, demonstrates, and presents the features and benefits of our services and products.

Stays informed about current, competing, and new products and services as well as industry changes and opportunities.

Understands customers’ needs and identifying new sales opportunities.

Qualifications:

Previous sales experience in the distribution business and knowledge of industrial markets (Distribution, Manufacturing, Wholesale).

A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a sales role.

Familiarity with hand tools, electrical, safety, and thread locker products is a plus.

Excellent phone, cold calling, and customer service skills.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Self-motivated, tenacious, and goal-driven.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Able to pass a drug test and criminal background check.

Regular working hours, Monday through Friday.
