Banford Road Farm is a certified organic vegetable farm in Woodstock. We are looking for a helper on Saturday to set up and sell at the farmer's market every Saturday morning this season. Hours are 6am-1pm. The market is on the square in downtown Woodstock every Saturday morning.
Duties include setting up tents, tables, arranging produce carefully, setting up price tags, and selling to customers. We do not have a cash register, so you must be able to do simple mental math. All our prices are whole dollar amounts, with no additional sales tax added. You just add the items in your head and give customers the total and give correct change in cash. We don't use coins. You must be able to unload heavy 50 LB totes of carrots and other produce.
I prefer a morning person who is friendly, who's interested in farming or gardening, and who enjoys talking to people. I strongly prefer someone 25 or older because I might consider sending you in my van to work the Park Ridge farmers market on some Saturdays. This age preference is for insurance purposes. I strongly prefer someone who lives locally in Woodstock or within 10 minutes of Woodstock.
