River North neighborhood boutique gym, Symmetry Chicago, is looking to hire 2 receptionists/attendants for part-time independent contractor work on a long-term immediate need basis. Duties include guest relations, checking members and trainers' clients in, selling and processing memberships, answering phones, buzzing guests in, some data entry and sharing in the cleaning and towel duties in the gym.
We are flexible on schedule (contractors work together to agree upon hourly coverage, so this is a good gig for students), but candidates should be available to reliably work about 20 hours a week (current need is for individuals who are able to work 1:30-8pm weekday periods, and at least one weekend day from 7:45 am to 2:00 pm, plus additional hours as we accommodate rotating vacation periods and time off). You MUST be independently responsible, timely, punctual, flexible enough to accommodate the fluctuating needs of work coverage inherent in operating a small business and consistently reliable when it comes to reporting for your agreed-upon hours (i.e. you must be altogether punctual and have the ability to honor your work commitments without continuous cancellations or no-shows).
Pay is $13.00/hour on an independent contractor basis; you will be responsible for paying your own taxes pursuant to an annually issued IRS Form 1099. Access to gym for workouts on off-work hours is an added perk.
Preference for individuals who have gym reception experience and/or are proficient and comfortable utilizing gym business management cloud based software. While not required (as we are willing to train), please understand that we are looking for someone that is comfortable utilizing such cloud-based software.
